Yes, I’m a writer, and a soon-to-be-published one! But long before I ever considered becoming an author, I was a self-proclaimed voracious reader. Oh, how I miss those days of curling up on the couch with a cup of tea and nothing but a good book and a long afternoon ahead of me.
Now, I’m lucky if I can squeeze in a little bit of reading time between writing, beta reading, critiquing, working, and the neverending momming stuff. With all of the fabulous books coming out in 2018 I’m going to have to find a way to fit it all in.
Here are a few that are begging me to one-click, put them on the top of my ever-growing TBR pile and read them first!
The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren
It’s been twelve years since tragedy struck the senior class of Long Acre High School. Only a few students survived that fateful night—a group the media dubbed The Ones Who Got Away.
Liv Arias thought she’d never return to Long Acre—until a documentary brings her and the other survivors back home. Suddenly her old flame, Finn Dorsey, is closer than ever, and their attraction is still white-hot. When a searing kiss reignites their passion, Liv realizes this rough-around-the-edges cop might be exactly what she needs…
Liv’s words cut off as Finn got closer. The man approaching was nothing like the boy she’d known. The bulky football muscles had streamlined into a harder, leaner package and the look in his deep green eyes held no trace of boyish innocence.
From Dylann… I’ve been looking forward to this book since I first heard about it at the Romance Writers of America convention back in July 2017. It just released this week so I’m ready to dive in!
Let It Be Me by Jody Holford
Megan Carter’s spent the past five years nannying for a pint-size boss—the adorable Charlie—while also navigating her full-size boss, his somewhat grouchy, way-too-methodical dad, Adam. Now that she’s finally moving on, helping Adam find her replacement should be easy…except he doesn’t want another nanny. He wants a wife.
Adam’s been burned by love in the past, so of course he believes finding someone who can be a partner in raising his son is all that matters. Too bad the woman helping him search is the biggest believer in love at first sight and happily-ever-after he’s ever met.
Even as Adam’s funny, charming, and—who would have thought it?—super-hot side starts to come out, Megan knows that without love, a family would never be complete. But convincing Adam of that might be harder than she thought.

From Dylann… Yay! Another Romance Chick release! Jody Holford’s novels are sweet, satisfying, slow burns that stay with me long after I’ve finished reading. I can’t wait to read her next one… and then the one after that and the one after that!
Never Dare a Wicked Earl by Renee Ann Miller
They are the infamous lords, unrepentant rogues whose bad behavior makes for good gossip among the ton. But these sexy scoundrels have stories no one knows. And it takes a special touch to reveal the true hearts behind their devilish disguises . . .
Known as a brazen philanderer, Hayden Milton, Earl of Westfield, is almost done in by a vengeful mistress who aims a gun at a rather essential part of his anatomy—but ends up wounding his thigh instead. Recuperating in his London townhouse, Hayden is confronted by his new medical attendant. Sophia Camden intrigues him, for behind her starched uniform is an enticing beauty better suited for bedding than dispensing salves and changing bandages.
Unshaken by his arrogance, not to mention impropriety, Sophia offers Hayden a dare: allow her ten days to prove her competency. If she resigns in exasperation like her two predecessors, she will be beholden to this wicked seducer. As a battle of wills begins, Sophia finds herself distracted by the earl’s muscular physique . . . and discovers that the man within longs only for a second chance to love.
Releasing January 30, 2018
From Dylann… Yes, this is our own Romance Chick Renee Ann Miller’s debut and it’s wonderful and sassy and sexy and full of fantasticness. I’ve been privileged enough to read an early draft and I can’t wait to see the whole thing in print.
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
A heartwarming and refreshing debut novel that proves one thing: there’s not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.
Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases–a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old.
It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice–with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan–from foreplay to more-than-missionary position…
Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but crave all of the other things he’s making her feel. Their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic…

From Dylann… I have personal experience dealing with individuals on the spectrum and I’m looking forward to reading about a strong heroine who conquers her challenges.
There are so, so many more books I’m excited to lose myself in over the next few months. 2018 promises to be a great year for new reads and I’m vowing to make the time to curl up on the couch with that cup of tea and indulge in getting lost in a good book. Which books are you most excited to get your hands on ASAP?
