Finally, right? I’m sure you’ve been barely balancing on the edge of your seats wondering what I have on my bookshelf between the letters R-Z. And as I just realized that’s a LOT of letters all at once and also because (shameless plug) I have a book release tomorrow, I’m going to whip through this one.
All hail Rainbow Rowell. I love this woman’s words more than I can possibly explain. They crawl inside of you the way Cather crawls onto Levi’s lap. They burrow in and change little pieces of you. At least, that’s what they do for me. Even last night, I was feeling blah, so I read my favorite words again: “I choose you over everyone.” I should apologize now for if I ever meet her because I’m pretty sure I’ll cry and then say something embarrassing.
Shannyn Schroeder. I’m lucky enough to call her a friend and fellow agency mate. She’s a great writer all the way around, but I gotta say, I have a special place in my heart for the O’Malleys. They are a fun, slightly dysfunctional (in the best possible ways) family that I feel like I know. Lucky for you, the third in her For Your Love series, Through Your Eyes, is out soon. Oh, she also writes straight up sexy scenes. Plus, she’s funny, bakes cookies, and loves the Chicago shows on NBC like I do.
The Search. Yes, THE counts for T because that’s the actual title of the book. Also, it is one of my favorite books of all time. (I have a feeling I may be repeating myself). This one is like my security blanket. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve read this book. I have pieces of it memorized. I quote it to myself when I’m feeling stressed. (You now officially know too much about me and I’m probably going to second guess sharing that).
Until it’s Right by Jamie Howard. I really enjoyed this book. It was my first by Jamie Howard. It was fun and sweet, with a side of sexy. It’s a great curl up in bed or lounge on the couch book. Easy to get into, stay with, and makes you smile through to the end.
One of the things that hooks me on an author is when there’s several books in a series. I tend to get a little attached and am rarely ready to give up characters I enjoy. You don’t have to, usually, when you pick up one of her books. Might be coincidental, but one of my favorites, Talk me Down is on sale today.
When You Dare by Lori Foster. When I’m looking for a straight up alpha read, this book, and the series that goes with it, though this one is probably my favorite, is my go-to. Dare Macintosh and his band of brothers take down the ultimate bad guys without breaking a sweat.
Yes Please by Amy Poehler. I asked for this book two Christmas’ ago and have yet to finish it. Not because it isn’t good…it is. It’s funny and genuine and I like the way she shares her story. But I get easily distracted. I’m going to go back to it. I’m going to finish it. Before next Christmas.
Please see X.
That’s it guys. That’s my library. And now, there are several books I want to go re read (or finish). But not tonight. Tonight, I’m going to polish this up and go spend some time watching television. Tomorrow, I’m going to cross my fingers that release day goes well. I’m leaving you with this beautiful teaser for tomorrow’s release of Caught Looking.
Thanks for reading. Really.
